Jerry McDowell

Jerry McDowell was born in High Point. He graduated from High Point Central High School and received a George Foster Hankins Scholarship to Wake Forest University where he graduated with a B. S. degree in Mathematics. Following his graduation from Wake Forest University, Jerry enrolled in Duke University where he received a Master of the Arts in Teaching Degree while teaching in the Wake County Public School System. He completed his Doctoral Degree in Education from Duke University and was the Executive Director of Information Systems for the Wake County Public School System before becoming the Chief Technology

 

Officer. He retired from the Wake County Public School System and changed his part-time Director of Contemporary Music and Worship at Grace Community Church into a full-time position. After nearly eleven years in the church environment, Jerry retired from church work in July 2007 and is now back pursuing his musical interests again.

Over the years, Jerry has been a member of junior high 50s-60s rock music groups, gospel quartets, folk and folk rock groups, choirs, national music contest winner in high school, college touring folk rock group, sang for servicemen in Germany with the USO, played lead guitar and vocals for seven years in a rock group, and directed the contemporary music church program for ten years.

Jerry is knowledgeable in various software packages and does multi-track audio recording when not performing. Jerry married Dolores Sloan, has two children, and currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Jerry arranges all the music done by Blair and Jerry and maintains the current website.
